About the role
As Assortment Manager, you are the driving force behind the development and profitability of the categories we offer across Kjell Group. Acting as the central hub of our operations, you’ll lead the team in developing commercially driven assortments that resonate with customer needs while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
You will oversee the strategic, tactical, and operational management of our categories while fostering collaboration across departments. With private label offerings as a key focus area, you will play a vital role in increasing gross margins and creating customer-centric solutions.
Based at our headquarters in Malmö, you will report to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and have 12 direct reports.
Key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire the Assortment team to deliver high performance and business impact.
- Category Strategy: Define and execute category strategies to drive turnover, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Launch Process Owner: Oversee and own the launch process, making strategic decisions in the innovation council.
- Customer Offering: Transform the product-based approach into a customer-centric ecosystem of solutions and offerings.
- Private Label Growth: Strengthen private label sales through cohesive assortment planning and strategic merchandising.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to align business and market strategies.
- Pricing & Margin Optimization: Own category pricing logic and campaign parameters, ensuring profitability while enhancing customer value.
- Supplier Relations: Support Category Managers in supplier negotiations to optimize agreements, pricing, and marketing contributions.
- Go-to-Market Planning: Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure product launches are successful across all channels
About you
We believe you are a proven leader with deep expertise in Product and Category Management. You have a strategic mindset, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong analytical and commercial acumen. A natural collaborator, you excel at cross-functional teamwork and building strong internal and external relationships.
Your skills and experience include:
- 10+ years in Product/Category Management or similar roles.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset, balancing short-term gains with long-term strategies.
- Hands-on experience with assortment development and category management tools.
- Experience working in international environments, with suppliers, manufacturers, and global brands.
- Fluent in both Swedish and English, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
