Höganäs AB is currently seeking a Senior Manager Laboratories to strengthen our global innovation work and lead a skilled team working with test, validation, technical customer support, and advanced analysis.
About the position
As Senior Manager Laboratories, you will be responsible for our laboratory operations in both Sweden and China. You will lead a team of experts — from academic researchers to technicians – with the goal of integrating test and validation even more deeply into our development projects. With a clear customer focus, you will contribute both to early-phase innovation and to supporting customers in their ongoing production.
Your work will include setting strategies for how data is generated, structured and analyzed, as well as integrating digital tools into daily operations. You will be expected to work closely with R&D, product development and technical support teams to ensure that our laboratory function continues to deliver high value and reliable insights.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop teams within testing, validation, and customer support across multiple sites
- Ensure a strong safety culture and drive improvements in 5S and lab routines
- Develop and implement strategies for data generation, storage and analysis
- Integrate test and validation expertise into product and process development
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between global teams
- Drive digital transformation of laboratory and validation operations
- Act as a key contributor in innovation projects and customer dialogues
- Ensure a structured and proactive approach to customer support, balancing technical expertise with customer needs
Your profile
We believe you have:
- A relevant engineering degree in areas such as mechanical engineering, system engineering, physics, chemistry or metallurgy
- Documented leadership experience, preferably within R&D or testing functions
- Experience leading diverse teams, preferably on a global scale
- A strong safety mindset and experience working with structured improvement methods
- Experience from global organizations and cross-functional collaboration
- Background in relevant industries such as automotive, process industry or high-volume manufacturing
- Solid understanding of test, validation and verification – on material, component or system level
- Experience working with data-driven decision making and digital tools in validation
- Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Swedish is considered a merit.
It is an advantage if you have experience working in a mature project culture and/or previous responsibility for customer-facing support functions.
